API Key Setup — Bring Your Own Key

Connect your own provider account to Workspace. AI Page Generator does not sell API keys or provider credits.

Set up a key for your provider

For Gemini, use Google AI Studio to create or manage a key associated with your project. Check the current official Gemini API key guide for provider-specific steps. Keep the key private and follow the provider’s restrictions. Never place it in a public page, exported template or support message.

Connect the key in Workspace

  • Open Workspace and choose the provider matching your key.
  • Paste the key into the API key field.
  • Wait for available models to load; refresh the list if needed.
  • Select a model your account can use.
  • Review the provider-request consent before generating.

For the currently verified Gemini path, choose Direct Google. Your browser makes the provider generation request, and Workspace validates the returned content. Other connection options can have different request routes.

Model access and provider charges

Gemini offers a free tier for certain models subject to eligibility and limits; paid usage and paid-only access are separate. Check the official Gemini billing guide and your provider account. Workspace does not inspect your billing account or guarantee free-tier quota.

About the fetched model list

Model discovery shows models reported for the selected provider/key. The pricing group is guidance, not a purchase or account balance check. A listed model can still reject a generation request because of project restrictions, unsupported behavior or exhausted quota. Select deliberately rather than assuming the first model is free.

Current provider coverage

A real live Gemini generation has been verified with the current Workspace. The current MVP supports Google Gemini BYOK only. Check the provider error if a selected model is not usable. There is no automatic switch to another provider or paid model.

Clear or change your key

Use Clear key when finished or when switching credentials. Changing the provider or key requires reviewing the request consent again. The Workspace plugin does not save your API key as a project credential. Depending on the selected connection, request data can pass through the website server or go directly from the browser to the provider. Read privacy information for the service’s data-handling description.

Need help?

Read the troubleshooting guide or contact support. Provide the provider name, model ID and safe error text. Do not provide the key itself. Open Workspace.
